Pharmacyclics is a leader in the hematological oncology market with Imbruvica® (ibrutinib), a first-in-class BTK-inhibitor used to treat hematological cancers, a $24 billion global market. Now, as an AbbVie Company, we have an opportunity to build a strong leadership position in hematological oncology, an attractive and rapidly growing market with significant unmet needs. The combination of both businesses will expand our clinical and commercial presence in oncology, strengthening an already robust pipeline. The HR Business Partner ("HRBP") reports to the Senior Director, HR Consulting and is a key member of the HR team. This position is responsible for knowing business drivers to successfully partner with a group of functions within the broader organization. This individual is a trusted advisor to the business in the areas of organizational development, talent management, performance management, career development, employee relations, compensation planning and change leadership. This position will be heavily involved in projects to establish infrastructure and initiatives to enable rapid growth and scalability in the organization. HR (Big B) Business Partner Expectations: * Gain an in-depth understanding of the overall Company's business while building effective relationships with executives, managers and employees in key functional areas. * Serve as strategic business partner to senior leadership focused on a broad-based and transformational talent agenda designed to recruit, develop and retain the best talent in the business. * Partner with Leadership to develop and execute best practices to promote employee engagement and empowerment to enable a high-performing workforce to contribute to the company's strategic growth. * Anticipate, influence and drive planning and execution around business initiatives such as organizational design, leadership/team development, and annual planning cycles (performance and compensation planning) in support of business objectives. Talent Management: * Drive talent initiatives by developing needs assessments focusing on business goals/ metrics and identifying people implications. * Partner with leaders to conduct gap analyses and ensure that appropriate career development opportunities are aligned with critical skill development for top talent. * Facilitate training programs related to "people" -and particularly leadership-- skills as appropriate to develop individual and organizational capability. * Develop methods to keep a pulse on the health of the organization. Employee Relations Expertise: * Able to provide guidance with and conduct investigations of concerns and complaints; in v olve appropriate individuals, seek Legal advice, when appropriate, and successfully resolve employee relations issues with credible, creative and consistent solutions. Education Requirements and Qualifications: * A Bachelors Degree in HR, business, psychology or a related field or equivalent. * A minimum of 10 years HR experience, with at least five years in a complex Business Partner role or broad HR leadership position.
