    Work Shift: DAY Work Week: M - F Company Profile Houston Methodist Research Institute was formed in 2004 to rapidly and efficiently translate discoveries made in the laboratory and the clinic into new diagnostics, therapies and treatments. The research institute was created to provide the infrastructure and support for these endeavors, and to house the technology and resources needed to make innovative breakthroughs in important areas of human disease. A 440,000 square foot building dedicated to research, the research institute houses over 1,150 staff members, 270 principal investigators and has more than 600 ongoing clinical trials. Job Summary Summary HR professional providing support to one or more units within a Business Partner function or a Line of Business. Executes on people implications of business strategy to assigned business within established policy and program guidelines and delivers solutions and HR services under limited supervision. Identifies and leverages internal and external trends, resources, relationships, and best practices. Effectively communicates and escalates potential issues with recommended solutions and risk management. Key Functions and Responsibilities: * Represents the full spectrum of Human Resource (HR) functions, programs, and processes within a Global Marketing and Communications group * Establishes and maintains relationships with executive level management at the VP/SVP level, in order to drive the execution of HR programs * Develops the change management strategy within the business to support the implementation of HR programs and initiatives * Leads the HR programs and processes within the function * Assesses HR implications of the business strategy, identifies opportunities to further meet business needs, and designs solutions through the use of analytics, graphs and narrative summaries * Represents the Houston Methodist Research Institute to the rest of the HR community and academic medical centers. * Collaborates on design of enterprise-wide programs and initiatives by providing an organization-specific perspective * Evaluates proposed HR programs to determine organization-wide viability * Will act as the senior adviser inside the organization during the implementation phase * Collaborates with senior colleagues in the centers of expertise in order to apply sufficient HR resources to meet the business needs * Coaches senior leadership within the business or function on issues that impact HR * Leads business- or function-wide solutions that impact multiple business units and/or countries * Partners with Senior Vice President (SVP) and Vice President (VP) level business managers Qualifications: * First level university degree; advanced university degree such as MBA, MHA or MBA-HRM highly preferred * PHR, SPHR or GPHR preferred * 5 to 7 years of Human Resources management and/or business operations experience, with a diverse range of HR functions. * Demonstrated experience driving organizational change initiatives, developing workforce plans, and influencing business managers, as well as execution and outcome metrics * Demonstrates the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions * Extensive knowledge in labor laws, regulations and compensation is necessary * Strong quantitative and analytical skills. * Excellent program management and process development skills * Experienced in creating, managing and sustaining multiple projects and plans with weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and analytics * Experience partnering with managers to deliver HR solutions * Strong business acumen * Strong leadership and influence skills * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Excellent relationship management skills * Experience partnering with and managing relationships with executive level managers * Experience providing HR Support in a large, multi-faceted academic medical center and research environment, strongly preferred Equal Employment Opportunity Houston Methodist is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
